A Week of Cars

Hola Everyone,

So, having a little brother sometimes means I have to compromise and watch a movie that I kinda don’t want to see plus this was supposed to help me understand one of my friends when he refers to this franchise. So, Matt, yes I now know what you meant all those times you referred to breaking people out of prison with cars. I just had a week of catching up on The Fast and the Furious movies since I’ve only seen the first two and they were the only movies I saw all week because I have cousins visiting from Mexico so I was out a lot.  I will warn that it helps with these movies to watch all the way to the end of the credits for hidden scenes and if you watch them in the order of 1,2,4,5,3 and 6. It just makes a lot more sense that way. Well here it is, from Tokyo to the most recent one in theaters.

1) The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006)

fast_and_the_furious_tokyo_drift_xlg

Director: Justin Lin

Starring: Lucas Black, Bow Wow, and Sung Kang

Rating: PG-13

The Plot: A troubled boy is sent to his father’s in Tokyo after getting in trouble with the law and stubbles upon the racing scene.

The Review:  Ok, I will admit I was going skip this one but my friend, Matt, was insistent that I had to watch all especially this one before number six because its finally incorporated into the series. In conclusion I stuck it out for they sake of connecting the franchise. Let’s begin with the story shall we? One word: clichéd, really troubled kid gets sent to his other parent/ guardian. We’ll let that slide for now but I will say that the main character annoyed the hell out of me most of the time as well as Bow Wow’s sidekick character. Since this was still early in the franchise the character development and interaction is minimal, making the plot very thin. I understand the cars and drifting are the central focus but the lack of plot makes the film predictable and just a bit cheesy. I will credit it however on the introduction of Han, which is a character I love in the series but more on that later, and with the exceptionally beautiful cars, especially that orange and black Veilside Mazda RX-7. Geez, that car and I don’t ever like the color orange but that car is gorgeous. For those of you who have seen it there is one character’s fate I was not happy with but that’s all I’ll say before I spoil anything.

Watch it?

For the sake of the series I guess.

2) Fast & Furious (2009)

fastandthefurious4_poster

Director: Justin Lin

Starring: Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster, Michelle Rodriguez, and etc.

Rating: PG-13

The Plot: Set a few years after the first, Brian, now an FBI agent, and Dom team up again to bring down a major drug lord.

The Review: Who’s glad they went back to the original storyline? Now I was really skeptical about this one because it was going back so I didn’t know where it was going to go but hey I was surprised this actually had a plot and it was character driven not just a parade of pretty cars. Sure it still had good racing scenes and great cars so it didn’t completely change.  Just got a little better at least in my opinion. It was still a little scattered in places because it wasn’t just based in LA but it still managed to fix some of the plot holes left by the first three though some times fixing them abruptly (cough Mia and Brian cough) but hey I was happy that they were fixed. So, it’s a good filler and lead into the next, not to mention I like the introduction to some new characters like Gisele played by the stunning Gal Gadot. On a side note for those who have seen this one too, why do they always give the worst fate to the characters and couples I most like?

Watch it?

Yeah, sure it has a plot that’s interesting enough and nice cars with some nice action scenes.

3) Fast Five (2011)

 fast-five-movie-poster

Director: Justin Lin

Starring: Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster, and everyone ever in these movies.

Rating: PG-13

The Plot: After breaking Dom out of prison when he’s convicted in the last one, Mia, Dom, and Brian are on the run and end up in Brazil.

The Review: This one has to be my favorite of the franchise and I will admit I really enjoyed this one. It was action packed with light humor that comes from incorporating everyone ever in the movies. I will admit that is part of the reason why I like it so much because the cast brought a great dynamic to the movie and I must say I love Han and Gisele with their flirty chemistry. I also liked that it was set in Brazil even though it had to do with a drug cartel but a cartel movie not set in Mexico. The cars are still fantastic but not the center of the film so it still has plot and character based so it develops a bit but the stunts are a bit exaggerated.  Lastly, Dwayne Johnson you snuck your way into this film too?

Watch it?

Yeah, why not, it’s entertaining and pretty good.

4) Fast & Furious 6 (2013)

Fast-Furious-6-Poster-570x9021

Director: Justin Lin

Starring: Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster, and everyone ever in these movies.

Rating: PG-13

The Plot: The team finds themselves reunited to take down a terrorist for their pardons and find Letty.

The Review: After a straight week of watching nothing but the Fast and the Furious movies, I will admit I got a little attached to the characters. Like number five, this one is plot and character based but still dips into its cool cars and street racing just set across Europe this time and like the past ones the stunts are just as exaggerated. Who cares though, its entertaining right? I definitely enjoyed this one as well and like that it was set in different place like number five. It did well in playing on the emotions of the team and I will admit it throws some curveballs at you that some I didn’t even predicted. Again not happy with the fate of one character and I don’t know why this franchise keeps doing. For those of you on Tumblr, I say they messed with my ships all through this franchise and I’m not happy. Well I do know why they do it though, the whole emotional impact to connect to your audience thing, which totally sucks by the way especially in one heartbreaking scene at the end that I just love for the emotion but hate because of what happens. All in all I liked the story and the action sequences and thought it ended in a bittersweet way and manages to connect the series to Tokyo Drift.

Watch it?

Yeah, its pretty good so give it a try.

Two Independents

Hello Internet,

The reviewing continues with two independent films on DVD and Netflix. So if you want to watch them they are available there. Sorry for the lack of in theater reviewing since right now there’s nothing on my list to watch in theaters. Fear not though I’m sure August will pick it up… at least I think it will.

Straight A’s (2013)

straight-as-2013---poster-3b43cd3

Director: James Cox

Starring: Anna Paquin, Luke Wilson, and Ryan Phillippe

Rating: R

The Plot: When an estranged brother with a lot of problems blows into town one family finds themselves examining their relationships.

The Review: Ok, so I like Ryan Phillippe but I’m not such a fan of Anna Paquin. Maybe because every time I see her I’m reminded of Sookie Stackhouse and I shack my head but that entirely aside I didn’t particularly like the film itself. I found it predictable and a thought it dragged on. All three main characters annoyed me not because they were deeply flawed but the end forgot all that very abruptly. It also had this weird love triangle thing that was awkward and brushed under the rug while Luke Wilson’s character was having a mid-life crisis that just made it seem like he was guilty and depressed all the time.

Watch it?

It can be passed up for better films but if you’re feel a deeply sentimental film that a little too slow when have a crack at it. I warn though it borders on annoying.

2) Tonight You’re Mine (2011)

MrsMiracle_DVD_Sleeve

Director: David Mackenzie

Starring: Luke Treadaway, Natalia Tena, and Rebecca Benson

Rating: R

The Plot:  Two feuding musicians get handcuff together at a music festival where they are both due to perform.

The Review: I partially love films because its like looking into windows of makes believe lives and worlds where any thing is possible but every so often there comes a time in film where some times you just find a movie that you just fall in love with. I will have to admit that I did with this one and absolutely loved it. It was what I also love about independent films: innovative, deep, and closer to being real. The evolution between the two main characters is entrancing, though I will have to admit that the beginning was a bit slow and confusing due to low and unclear audio because it is filmed very roughly in piece but other shots are stunning.

tumblr_ma2hxfher81qky35ao1_1280

The story is simple a set of people over twenty four hours with two of them handcuffed together but the connections and changes in characters are well done and clear so it doesn’t seem abrupt. All together a captivating and sweet film that lives you with pleasant feelings and a smile on your face. It was originally title You instead so if you have trouble finding the movie or album, because the music is get, try searching under that.

Watch it?

Yes, I thought it was well worth my time.

Trailer Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pGbN13bkAmQ

Two Bad Ones and Two Good Ones

Hi,

So, I haven’t really done anything but in theater reviews so far which is crazy since that’s not the only time that I watch movies. I decided to write this because I watch some really horrible movies lately, so excuse the ranting and the length of this review since it is four because I included two good ones. I’ll try to keep it short and I also wrote this because I decided that I have to start reviewing other movies besides the ones I watch in theaters especially since the Summer movie must sees are slowing down as the blockbuster season is ending. Let’s start with the bad and end with the good:

1) Beowulf (2007)

MV5BMTUzMjM0MTc3MF5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwNzU0ODMyMw@@._V1_SX214_

Director: Robert Zemeckis

Starring: Anthony Hopkins, Robin Wright, Crispin Glover, and John Malkovich

Rating: PG-13

The Plot: When a word of a village being attack by a monster spreads the fearless Beowulf comes to rid the town of the evils that plague it.

The Review: Ok, let the rant begin. So, first of all why would animate something to look real when you can just use real actors? When you do that it all it does is looks like a video game.  Second that to say that was freely adapted was an understatement. Now I do hate Beowulf as an epic poem, its boring, ridiculous and way too long and the movie was no different. So, far I hadn’t had an instant where I hated the movie and the original book or story but well like they say there’s a first time for everything.  It had an awkward tone to it and ridiculous in dialogue and narrative. I mean kudos for animating the whole movie I do appreciate it from a person who has done animation and studied what it takes to do that but I found it unnecessary and distracting.

Watch it?

No, please don’t unless you like that whole bad action film type thing and in that case try it at your on risk.

2) G.I. Joe: Retaliation (2013)

 G.I.-Joe-Retaliation

Director: Jon M. Chu

Starring: Dwayne Johnson, Bruce Willis and Channing Tatum

Rating: PG-13

The Plot: Taking place after the last one, Cobra is defeated and captured but his disciples are on the rise.

The Review:  First problem and don’t worry this is not a spoiler because apparently it was in the trailer: who kills off Channing Tatum in the first fifteen minutes?! Yes, I understand it was for emotional value but emotional value does not mean emotional scarring. So, if you’re like me and watched this one like you did the first one to see Channing Tatum, don’t watch it you’ll get a cheesy-dialogued Dwayne Johnson instead. Well the story was confusing and had nothing to do with the first one and the dialogue is bad and just makes the over-exaggerated action scenes worse but not ever those action scenes could make up for the fact that it made absolutely no sense since more then half the characters weren’t in the first one. I know because I checked but it was better then Beowulf. Oh, and Bruce Willis what are you doing in there again playing the retired secret agent?

Watch it?

At your own peril.

3) The First Time (2012)

 FIRST_TIME_THE_2012_TH_MLF-WW-artwork

Director: Jon Kasdan

Starring: Dylan O’Brien, Britt Robertson, and Craig Roberts.

Rating: PG-13

The Plot: Two people meet outside and their relationship evolves over a weekend.

The Review:  So, I love romantic comedy so when I stumbled upon this one I was super excited because I love independent romantic comedies even more and this one was in competition at Sundance. Yes, I going through a Dylan O’Brien summer I think but come on he’s adorable and so nerdy in the stuff I’ve seen that it makes you laugh and he’s just the same in this movie. The movie is set in high school so clichés insured but its sweet in narrative and witty in dialogue. Its get right into the character so there’s really no backstory just straight into the meeting of the characters and their development toward each other and growth as people on their own. It has a very small time frame that spans like three day so its humor plays off of that and getting older. I thought it was a good break from all the action films I’ve been watching and I love that I ended up with the really good romantic buzz feeling where you swoon a little and just makes you feel so much better. What can I say; I’m a sucker for a good romance movie. Maybe it’s the hopeless romantic in me, who knows?

Watch it?

I thought it was super cute so if you’re looking for something adorable test it out.

4) Parental Guidance (2012)

 parental_guidance_poster

Director: Andy Fickman

Starring: Billy Crystal, Bette Midler, Marisa Tomei, and Tom Everett Scott

Rating: PG

The Plot: Two grandparents take care of their estranged grandkids when their parents go on a business trip.

The Review:  I love Billy Crystal and Bette Milder! Beaches and When Harry Met Sally are two of my favorite films so I will admit that I watch this film for them. The plot was simple and nothing special but it was this duo that made me laugh especially Bette Midler. It was a sweet, heartfelt film that explores the couple’s relationship with their daughter; grandkids, themselves, and how they came to be were they are in their lives and career. It’s sad at times, funny in others and touching at other times. Now dialogue and as a whole the film wasn’t the best in the world but it was charming and entertaining.

Watch it?

Sure, it’s good for some laughs.

Disney and Depp

Hello,

New review time! I know it’s soon but I went out with my dad and brother for his birthday. Shout out and happy birthday to my baby bro! Sixteen, dude, you’re getting old. Well how we celebrate at my house is normally dinner and a movie with if you have a Lucille’s by you, you should definitely go the strawberry lemonade and food are great. So that explains why I have a review so soon.

The Lone Ranger (2013)

lone_ranger_ver12_xlg

Director: Gore Verbinski

Starring: Johnny Depp, Armie Hammer, Helena Bonham Carter, Tom Wilkinson, and Ruth Wilson

Rating: PG-13

The Plot: Tonto recounts the story of how he met and rode with the man who would be the Lone Ranger.

The Review: I’m first going to say I’m glad Disney is branching out more and more into live action, it make things interesting and when watching this let me say I have never seen the past show so it was an entirely new story to me. Now to the movie I would have to say I found its structure first of all interesting and confusing because it was told in broken, interrupted flashbacks. It ultimately makes sense and I understand why it was told that way because it was Tonto telling the story and the narrative is told through the way his mind works. The cast was great; I mean who doesn’t love Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter in everything they do? I certainly do. The film itself was witty and quirky in its humor and came mostly from Depp’s Tonto or the interaction between Tonto and John Reid. I enjoyed that but sometimes I felt that they rely a little too much one it. I understand that it was a family, all ages targeted films but sometimes the humor seemed a little awkwardly placed. As a whole I laughed immensely and the epic end fight scene was stunning in execution and accompanied by the classic theme song though like all the action in the film a bit exaggerated due to the fact that it is a legend and is portrayed with that fantastical element that makes anything possible with the larger then life characters and I must add the Hans Zimmer’s music is perfectly suited with the films every scene.

Watch it?

As a whole the film is a good pass time that will insure some laughs so if you need a kind of ridiculous, simple film give it a try.

Independence Day Double Feature

Hello Everyone,

I apologize for the lateness in my replies to your comments. I greatly appreciate all of them. For some reason my webpage was being weird and decided to deliver all of them a couple of days ago. I don’t know why and it still astounds me that no matter how long I’ve been on the Internet, the Internet still manages to baffle me once in a while. So again I apologize but to make up for it I have two new reviews for today.

 1) World War Z (2013)

 world-war-z-uk-poster

Director: Marc Forester

Starring: Brad Pitt, Mireille Enos, and Danielle Kertesz

Rating: PG-13

The Plot: After an outbreak of a strange virus that is turning the dead into zombies one man must lead a team to find the origin of this unknown virus in hopes of discovery a way to find a cure.

The Review: All right, so I’ll admit I’ve been avoiding this one but my guy friends Steven, Adrian, and Kevin wanted to see it. First of all I’m not a fan of zombie movies, I really prefer vampire movies but to each their own on their favorite horror monsters. When seeing this I was already less then keen but the prospect of seeing a Brad Pitt movie won me over when my friend suggested we see it. To start off the backstory was vague on what exactly Brad Pitt did for a living. All I got was he used to work for the UN in dangerous situation but quit for some deep traumatic reason that’s alluded to but never explain or said out right. That just makes thing a little confusing. Now the premise of the film was simple; zombie pathogen infects the dead. That’s it; simple but its where they took the story that I was not happy about. For the record I did not finish the whole book because it was just not my type of read. Well I wasn’t too happy with where the narrative went because I didn’t think it was particularly the greatest way to solve an apocalypse nor was I a fan of the computerize zombies that reminded me of a video game.

Watch it?

If you like zombie movies, fine go for it but personally I think this one could have been better but it was decent.

2) Despicable Me 2 (2013)

images

Director: Pierre Coffin and Chris Renaud

Voices: Steve Carell, Kristen Wiig, Benjamin Bratt, and Russell Brand

Rating: PG

The Plot: Gru is back and working with the Anti Villain League to a catch one of the most notorious villains while jugging his personal life and being a dad.

The Review: So, who absolutely love the first one? I know that I did, so when this came out I was super excited because it looked adorable. I must say that it didn’t disappoint the level of cuteness was ridiculous really. I though it was not only cute but funny and sweet. It was different then what I thought it was going to be but it was in a good way. The added Kristen Wiig character was not only funny but added a charming romance to the film. I enjoyed it immensely and would definitely watch it again. Because its just as delightful and heartfelt as the first.

Watch it?

Why not? To some it up in one word, and I know I’ve said this a lot in this review: cute.

The Google Underdog

Hola,

Ok so my reviewing has slowed down a bit because I’ve been watching a lot of T.V. and anime (don’t judge) more specifically a few of my friends suggested that I catch up on Teen Wolf. Now the show as a whole is not that amazing, entertaining but it’s no Game of Thrones but the men of that show sure are attractive. So my friends Matt and Megan said, “Let’s go see The Internship” I said “Why not a comedy with Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn that just so happens to have Dylan O’Brien, ok.”

The Internship (2013)

Untitled

Director: Shawn Levy

Starring: Owen Wilson, Vince Vaughn, Rose Bryne, and Dylan O’Brien.

Rating: PG-13

The Plot: When the company they work for goes bankrupt two guys apply and get into an internship at Google.

The Review:  So, when I first saw this trailer I have to admit that I had some higher expectations for this movie. Not only do I love both Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson but also for one who’s seen The Wedding Crashers (and if you haven’t then watch it) I must say it was a bit disappointing. Sure it had its funny parts, come on anytime anyone plays quidditch it’s hilarious. Wilson and Vaughn still make a great team but the writing of the film dialogue was not as great. Now the film as a whole was sweet in theme but predictable. There were a lot of references and I did enjoy those especially the Flashdance jokes but the whole film was basically take the underdog story and apply the world of Google to it. The cast was great, nerdy and adorable especially Dylan O’Brien but all in all I did expect more.

Watch it?

I would wait till it comes out on DVD really its cute but not worth the ten dollar theater fee when there are better movies in theater.

A Short Review that’s Long Overdue

Hello Internet,

It’s been another blissful week of watching movies and sleeping but alas I had to get outside so being finally home I met my BFF for lunch and a movie. Shout out to my best friend,l Megan, for going with me to see Monster’s University. Thank goodness for having a best friend who loves animated films as much as I do.

Monster’s University (2013)

Untitled

Director: Dan Scanlon

Voices: Billy Crystal, John Goodman, Steve Buscemi, and Helen Mirren

Rating: G

The Plot:  The story of how Mike and Sully met and became the loveable team in Monster’s Inc.

The Review:  Ok, so as you all know I have a soft spot in in my heart for animated films and I’m particularly fond of Monster’s Inc., especially Mike voiced by the talented and hilarious Billy Crystal. Being a college student I fond Monster’s University even more funny and to add on to that the many references to the first film was enjoyable. All through the movie I was think “been there, done that” or “hey I remember that part of freshman orientation” but the best surprise was seeing Mike meet his roommate and who it turns out to be. I think that it did well setting a animated family film in a bunch of college clichés. I wont say anymore so I won’t spoil it. I thought it was cute and heart warming and the storyline was definitely different from what I expected. I came out of this film happy and feeling like I had a really good laugh.

Watch it?

Yeah sure in rent it when it come out or watch it in theaters. Its great to take a younger sibling, cousin, see it as a family movie or do what I did grab your best friend and go have lunch and a good laugh with this movie.

Summer and Superman

Hi Everyone,

I LIVED! I have survived my finals and maximum sleep deprivation to continue reviewing. I must add that I aced that blasted chicano studies class and passed my Woody Allen class with a solid B.  I have officially started my summer of movies and what better way to start the summer then with a particular movie that I have been waiting for what seems like forever. Now I know that I have been saying this a lot in these posts because I have been waiting years for many of these movies. What can I say this year is just a good year of releasing movies for me but this one like Now You See Me has been about two or three years in production of course that’s pre through postproduction. So here are my thoughts on the summer’s top grossing film so far at about 130 million dollars: Man of Steel.

Man of Steel (2013)

man-of-steel-poster

Director: Zack Snyder

Starring: Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Russell Crowe, Michael Shannon, Diane Lane, and Kevin Costner.

Rating: PG-13

The Plot: Sent to Earth after the destruction of his planet, a man must discover and come to terms with his past in order to save the future of mankind.

The Review: Dear goodness Henry Cavill! I must first say that I am a huge fan of Henry Cavill. That is one fine looking man. I mean the cast is fantastic as a whole but he is just fantastic. So, it is safe to say that I may be a bit biased in this not only for Henry Cavill but also because I love the Superman story. Hands down my favorite superhero. The fact that he was played by an actor that I would argue is one of if not the most attractive man in Hollywood, just even better. Therefore, I will try to remain as unbiased as I can.

Untitled

Like I previously stated the cast was amazingly selected and I found them suited to their roles especially the determined and strong Lois Lane played by Amy Adams. Though that was not what caught my interest. It was the remaking of the Superman storyline to encompass a past and a present. Yes we’ve all seen so many remakes; at least I know I have. From Christopher Reeves to Tom Welling from the TV show Smallville that told a back-story but there has never been a merging like this. Now I do not remember much of the comic books, it’s been a while since I’ve read any but I’m pretty sure this was not the comic book story which I like that it was so different and almost more realistic in a way. It humanizes and makes a more complex Superman. The narrative structure was different in sequence also in that it opened with the back-story to Krypton and Kal-El but flashes forward thirty years and tells the rest in flashbacks. Now yes it could have gone further into the back-story but I think that the central focus was the becoming of Superman not his childhood for that we have comic books and Smallville. I mean the film was already over two hours and most of it with out an action sequence, Now while I find it commendable that a film can hold interest without blowing shit up every five seconds (I’m looking at you Transformers. Though I still find it visually stunning and enjoy the franchise but seriously Michael Bay, cool it a little). I do enjoy Zack Snyder’s style of films, combining a film that holds action with a story that has a slightly serious tone and a stunning visual style. Sucker Punch, Watchmen, and 300 are all admirable in visual style their stories have a serious tone which is not very big in today’s action films. This is because the lean toward a more comedic tone let face it, it sells better that’s all. So I appreciate that the stuck solely to scattered sparse moments of wit, which were delivered with a dazzling smile from Henry Cavill. Oops, sorry bias, I mean Superman. The fight and destruction of Metropolis was fantastic though a lot to take in with so many things happening at once but that just made it so much more engaging and exciting. There were some minor things, as there always is, that I was not in agreement with but hey no movie even a Superman movie is perfect really. Though the detail and design on the film and costuming was just phenomenal. Yay for a change in suit and no outside underwear because let’s face it that is a bit odd on a superhero costume unless you’re Captain Underpants which thank goodness Superman is not. I enjoyed the film immensely and thought it to be completely worth my time and money for a made for the masses film. I look forward to buying it when it is released  definitely.

Watch it?

Hell yes Superman and played by Henry Cavill and with a fantastic director, cast, story and visuals go see it like soon!

For my amusement because I simply love this talk show.so here’s a funnier interview. If any of you are familiar with a British talk show with Graham Norton this is a good one. If you are not well this is a good show to watch for a laugh: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wSTGVc18wTk

So, until next time which I anticipate will be very soon, perhaps Monsters University who knows I have an entire Summer with nothing but a release list and time.

I Love Where I Live!

Greetings Internet,

I mentioned that last Tuesday was my birthday and as the original plan fell through that my friends and I were gong to dinner and then to a movie but since finals is just killing us and the movie we were going to see wasn’t playing. We skipped our outing and watched Casanova and ate junk food but yesterday we had an amazing discovery, which is the movie we was supposed to see for my birthday was showing in a small theater that specializes in independent films. Thank goodness for living in Santa Barbara! We scrambled to finish our work and succeeded and there we were waking up at eight in the morning to catch an early bus for an early movie showing because we had to get back for a play my friend was doing hair for. The play was awesome. Shout out to Tina for her amazing job on fifties hairstyles and we made the movie and even had time to stop by our favorite coffee shop.

The East (2013)

the-east-poster3

Director: Zal Batmanlij

Starring: Brit Marling, Alexander Skarsgard, Ellen Page, and Patricia Clarkson

Rating: PG-13

The Plot: A rookie intelligence agent finds her world drastically change when she is given a mission to infiltrate an environmental anarchist group called the East.

The Review:  So, initial I thought I was going to have to wait till this one was on DVD because the only place I heard of that it was play in was in LA because it is a small independent film but hooray! I live in a film city because for those of you who don’t know Santa Barbara is a city big on film and used to be the film capital of California until production companies were moved to the larger city of LA. Nonetheless it remains a major film supporter and is home to the Santa Barbara Film Festival. As a big film city I have the great pleasure of having access to theaters that screen not only big movies and frequently off and on campus but also small independent movies that would not be showing in my hometown. Now if only I could find a theater showing What Maisie Knew.

Well, the movie was certainly much different then I expected, first of all, but then again I don’t think I had a set idea of what it would be like. The message was environmental clearly and the set up was long. It had a very odd tone to it and some times I would catch myself saying this is one weird cult. Patricia Clarkson and Ellen Page were great as they always are in films but I did find the main protagonist blank stares a bit overdone. The character of doctor was that most intriguing with his heart retching tale and the story does involve a bit of a twist at the end once it picks up after the set up. It was not an action pack movie so don’t expect that, it was more of a drama with a message that was executed in an interesting way.

Watch it?

The question is can you find it? If you do and you don’t mind a slow build up and a more pensive movie then give it a shot if not rent it when it comes out.

Two more days of college and three finals to go are all that stand between me and a summer of movies and sleep. Almost there!

“Come in close…”

Hello Everyone!

So, I am in my last week of my first year in college. Thank goodness I’m almost done and its almost summer. I recently had my birthday on Tuesday the 4th, yay for 19, right ?  Though the day went horribly wrong, I managed to get all my work done. Now on to finals and then a very long summer of nothing but movies and sleep but in the mean time I will settle for movies. Speaking of waiting its been almost three years that I have been tracking this movie and here it is! Wow, this year is just a spill of releases I been waiting for, I must say I rather like it. Well here it is without further ado: Now You See Me.

Now You See Me (2013)

Now-You-See-MeA4-Poster_jpeg

Director: Louis Leterreir

Starring: Jesse Eisenberg, Isla Fisher, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Mark Ruffalo, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, and Melanie Laurent.

Rating: PG-13

The Plot: FBI and Interpol are trying to catch a team of clever and talented illusionist who are rewarding their audience with money from the bank heist they are performing.

The Review: Where to start with this one? I was speechless when I walk out of the theater first of all. I’d have to say first of all is that this film is going to be one of my favorite films of the year because it just encompasses everything I love in a film. I first of all love magic and illusions. Corny, I know but never the less I still love it. This film though, action, comedy, mystery, you name it,it has it and is almost a mixture of Ocean’s Eleven and The Prestige. Exciting car chases to witty dialogue, Now You See Me is a film that fits everything together without trying to cram it together but I’m getting ahead of myself.

Let’s start with the story.  I love complex stories! The Prestige and the Illusionist come on those are fantastic stories and better yet hard to predict. Now You See me had that and if a film can fool me to the point were I don’t see the ending coming from the beginning then it has my attention. The story was a basic Robin Hood heist but it was the magic that gave it such a twist and I not just talking the surprise ending. Now there was one small detail I didn’t agree with but I won’t spoil it . It had plenty on action and comedy but also just a touch of romance which was the perfect offset because it wasn’t the main focus nor did it distract from it . It was like an added bonus for me at least because I love a good romance in a movie. Again the only fear I had going into the theater was disappointment because the story sounded interesting and the cast was amazing. I mean you can’t have everything go right with so many great actors and a really intriguing story line. Its rare but once in a while you get a film that combines the talents and strengths of their beautiful cast.  Everyone was fantastic and I was not disappointed in any of the casting choices, even the younger, just starting out Dave Franco who had an impressive fight scene as the sleight of hand part of the group.

Visually the film was like a having a seat in a magic show. It was one whole act broken down just like the show in the movie. The tricks themselves were astounding and ranged to include every type of illusion from disappearing acts ad escapes to card tricks and stealing money from across the world during the show. Just the opening scene its self sets up how intricate the film was going to be with introductions to our four main heros, displaying exactly what they can do. What made the film interesting also was the debunking of the tricks as part of the story but this only seemed to make them more fantastic  I enjoyed this film immensely and would have to say it has definitely made my list  of films that are a must see and my favorites.

Watch it?

Hell yes and in theaters because the visuals are totally worth it. The whole movies worth it!

The trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KzJNYYkkhzc

The opening scene: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_diRgwPCS8

So, I will hopefully be seeing and posting on After Earth, The Internship, or The Purge, maybe all but probably After Earth so keep an eye out. In the mean time see Now You See Me. Don’t forget you can always shoot me a comment, recommendation, or opinion. I will from here till Tuesday try to survive finals.

Memorial Day Double Feature

Hello Internet,

So there comes a days that every person in school looks forward to and that is any holiday making the the weekend a three day weekend. Yes, I got to go home and sleep without the noise that are the consequences of living on a floor of 25, yeah count them 25, girls. As part of my weekend I neglected my work and instead slept, ate, and watched movies. I was able to see two last weekend that are complete opposite in every way but worked for my weekend: Star Trek and Epic. I have been buried under film and end of term papers so sorry for the lateness and lack of posting but better late then never.

1) Star Trek Into Darkness (2013)

Star-Trek-Into-Darkness

Director: J.J. Abrams

Starring: Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Benedict Cumberbatch

Rating: PG-13

The Plot: After the crew of the Enterprise find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction. (IMDB)

The Review: So, I must first state I am not a huge Star Trek in fact the only part of the franchise that I have seen was the last movie that came out before this one. I know, I know I’m a failure. So, going into this film you have to remember that if you haven’t seen Star Trek you’re going to be a bit confused. I sure as hell was and there’s no shame in turn to your fifteen year old brother to ask what the hell is going on because you figure he knows more about whats going on. To me it seemed a bit long in parts but Benedict Cumberbatch was fantastic in. Visually it was stunning so that kept me interest but I think the dialougue tried to insert too much humor at the times where the tension was the highest.

Watch it?

If you’re a huge fan then I would say yes and if not wiki a bit of the past story before you go. Although, I thought it was good I did like Iron Man 3 a little more I not going to lie but I didn’t regret seeing it.

2) Epic (2013)

MV5BMTgyNDYwNzE5NV5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwMzUyODM5OA@@._V1_SY317_CR0,0,214,317_

Director: Chris Wedge

Voices: Amanda Seyfried, Josh Hutcherson, Collin Ferrall, Christoph Waltz, and so many more.

Rating: PG

The Plot: After the death of her mother, a young girl moves out to live with her father who is trying to find a hidden race. After a strange turn of events she get caught up in the affairs of that hidden world that leads her on a great adventure.

The Review: I absolutely adore cute animated films. Tangled, Brave, Despicable Me… I just eat that up. So when I saw the trailer to this I was super excited, it was so pretty, cute, and it was set to a Snow Patrol song. I was sold! Of course when I saw the film I happened to be literally the only nineteen year in the theater so that was a bit embarrassing for me and my mom. Thank goodness my family puts up with me dragging them to all the movies I do. Well anyway the film. Great set of voice that were perfect for the characters and story. It was funny, cute and well animated. The story was environmental but not preaching  for save the planet. I was very happy with this one.

Watch it?

I liked it a little more then Star Trek but I hold a special place in my heart for animated kid films. If you have little cousins or siblings this is perfect to take them or even as family movie. If you don’t want to go threw the embarrassment it can wait for renting especially with the release of Now You See Me, After Earth and The East this week.

I’ll be posting on Now You See Me soon so here’s links to the trails and more information to all theses films.

From Tina

Hey Everyone,

So term essays are kicking my butt so here’s Tina’s thoughts on Gatsby.

Mine, Yours, Our great Great Gatsby

So it’s been a few weeks since I went to go see GG, and I still can’t put into words how spectacular it was. When the lights went out in the theatre and the movie began I was so unexplainably exited. Mr. Luhrman did a fantastic job, although it did remind me of Moulin Rouge at times, everything worked and it was as if the Robert Redford version never existed. This is my Gatsby.  I feel that Leo Dicaprio is the Gatsby that I always imagined but could never really make out. His charisma, demeanor, and naivety where all there, as was a humanizing trait that the Mr. Fitzgerald’s Gatsby never had. I rooted for Mr. Gatsby and hoped that he would live happily ever after, even though I knew how it ended, I was still disappointed. The movie was how it was always meant to be wild, crazy, fun, frustrating and even polarizing at times. When I got home, my mind was still mush and all I could think was, “I would definitely get off of Tumblr to go to a Gatsby party.” Ah college kid problems. I then proceeded to get on Tumblr and scroll the entire Gatsby tag.

-Tina

“Gatsby? What Gatsby?”

Hello everyone,

So, its been a while. The combination between classes and Mother’s day weekend did not go easy on me. Now I been anticipating this movie for a little more than two years now and here it is: The Great Gasby! Well its been a long two years but I finally saw it. Opening weekend I was there and I must say my only fear was disappointment but boy did Baz Luhrmann deliver, not one speck of disappointment on my part. Now I’ve seen the two pervious versions of The Great Gatsby including the one with Robert Redford and read the book out of free will meaning that I was not in anyway assigned or forced to read it basically because I am a fan of classic literature. Sorry for the length of this post I’m afraid I let my brain run away with me.

The Great Gatsby (2013)

the-great-gatsby-poster1

Director: Baz Luhrmann

Starring: Leonardo Di Caprio, Toby Maguire, Carey Mulligan, Joel Edgerton

Rating:PG-13

The Plot:  So, Nick Carraway (Maguire) moves to a small cottage on  West Egg and gets swept up into lives of the rich, more specifically his neighbor Gatsby (Di Caprio)  and  uncovers various secrets of the past that can have a profound effect on the future.

The Review: Ok, so I’m a huge Baz Luhrmann fan, Moulin Rouge, Romeo and Juliet, Australia… come on genius, beautiful films. They are fantastic story the are visually stunning so I expected no less from Gatsby on the contrary I had a very high standard for this film. The only fear I had was that I had set the standard to high and that I would gravely disappointed. To my great happiness I was not.Where to start? I don’t even know. Well I did not see this in 3D first of all. What can I say I’m old fashioned and it is my personal opinion that 3D distracts from the movies, in narrative and in visuals since all you’re waiting for is for something to pop out at you. So, we’ll delay cinematography and mis-en-scene and start with casting.

Now, I love every actor in this cast and Leo Di Caprio as Gatsby sold! But I must admit that on first hearing some of the casting choices I was a little worried Carey Mulligan, sweet and likable Carey Mulligan. Now if there’s one thing I despise about the book its Daisy but I won’t go on as to why just that i’m not fond of her throughout the book but in the film I find that I feel completely different toward her in the movie and actually sympathized toward her in some of the film till the end of coures were the despise came back. Second, Toby Maguire  as Nick Carraway I don’t know just didn’t seem like the right choice to me but I’m I was on all accounts.

For the narrative, there were some liberal changes on how the story was told but I tink they worked well in the light of telling a story through a first person narrative to limit the information but not to muddle the story. It didn’t focus on the love story which was good because that is not what Gatsby is about. Part of the narrative was the music, pick by Jay Z, it seemed to take a life of its own weaving in and out of the dialogue and switching for contemporary to past and sometimes even blending into a hybrid like A Little Party Never Killed Nobody but the music the audience hears is not always what the characters hear creating a convergence of past and present like Baz Luhrmann likes to do in his films.

And last…The visuals! Dear goodness the cinematography works with deep space and shallow focus making  everything pop including the gorgeous clothing made by Prada and Brooks Brothers and jewelry by Tiffany’s. Scene of driving in the car actually felt like you were moving with  the use of tracking shots even if it wasn’t in 3D and the coloring gave a dreamlike feel to the movie.

I would say more, but the review has run long enough.

Watch it?

Yes!

I’ll post soon on the new Star Trek movie till then so here’s a link to more info on it.

From Tina

Hi y’all,

So I’ve been super busy lately. Sorry about the lack of posting so to take over for today my friend, Tina will entertain you with her perspective of Iron Man 3. I will be posting soon so look out for my reviews on Gatsby, Woody Allen’s films, and so much more. So without further ado here’s Tina and her thoughts!

Tony Stark, the love of my life and Pepper’s abs, the other love of my life

So as a college student with very little money to spend on life’s frivolities I try to save my allowance for the important things in life…movies and snacks. SO when Iron Man 3 came out on May 3rd, I jumped at the chance to watch a wonderful movie, with a wonderful cast, and eat various movie snacks. I have a serious obsession with Robert Downey Jr., I am attracted to talented, funny, charming, good looking people, so RDJ is basically my soul mate. I am quite proud to say that I have seen all of the Iron Man movies on the big screen, several times. I was a little sad to find out that Jon Favreau was not directing the last installment of the franchise, but I was pleasantly surprised by the style that Shane Black took with Iron Man 3. It was the perfect blend of action and sass. I can’t put into words how genius Iron Man 3 really is, everything about it was amazing; the whole dynamic of superhero movies was completely changed with this movie, it is clear that your dad’s action movie with nothing but explosions and rugged men are a thing of the past.

Over the last few years there has been a trend in action movies away from the  “regular” action movie, comedy has suddenly become the norm, even in superhero movies. The Expendables franchise has shown us that moviegoers want more than explosions, they want to have fun and that is exactly what Iron Man 3 brings to the table.

That’s enough of the serious stuff, back to fan girling…

Here are the things that made me fall in love all over again with the Iron Man franchise

  1. The special effects were absolutely mind blowing, kudos to the special effects team.
  2. The man… Robert Downey Jr. is a genius. His talent and charisma basically ooze off of the screen. With his sexy pelvic movements and his amazing relationship with Pepper, Gwyneth Paltrow, RDJ makes Tony Stark into a real person, someone we can connect with weirdly enough, who would have thought that it would be so easy to connect with a genius, philanthropist, playboy all wrapped up into a sexy metal suit.
  3. Pepper, Pepper, Pepper… where have you been hiding those abs? As soon as I saw Gwyneth Paltrow and all her glory I nearly feel out of my seat. Her shiny abs blinded me, all I could think is “that’s what she’s been hiding under her designer suits.” It was really great to see the character of Pepper step out from behind Tony’s shadow, finally she really shows what a Bad Ass she really is!

I laughed, I cried and I ogled, Iron Man 3 was a full movie going experience, I felt all of the emotions that come with the end of a franchise. I will probably see it again and then maybe once more, then I will go out and buy the DVD, the awesomeness will be mine.

Continuing to Fangirl,

Tina =)

Thank Goodness for Tony Stark after Set 1 of Midterms!

Hi,

So what does four exhausted college students do after they finish their first set of midterms? Why go see the new Iron Man movie of course. So after my Woody Allen and Chicano Studies midterms, more on that later, I and my friends lugged our sleep deprived butts to the theater for the opening of the movie. Luckily we went to the earlier showing and not the midnight because one we probably would not have been able to stay awake for that long and two there was a crazy amount of people at that one but the movie was totally worth it.

Iron Man 3 (2013)

??????????????????????

Director: Shane Black

Starring: Robert Downey, Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Ben Kingsley, and Guy Pearce.

Rating: PG-13

Plot: Follow the pervious two and after the events of the Avengers, Tony Stark is faced with a new advisory, the Mandrin and is at risk of loosing everything he loves.

The Review: Yes, I know bad synopsis. Hey I’m drained of writing from midterms give me a break and I still have one more. Well back to the more important matters: Iron Man 3. How much was there special effects budget? Geez, those were some beautiful effect! The story was decent but nothing overly complicated and spectacular and the dialogue was sufficiently witty. The cast was great and all I can really say it was diffiently entertaining and worth seeing on the big screen.

Watch it?

Yes, before some one spoils it for you preferably.

May Madness

Greetings Internet,

So with Summer and the end of the school year fast approaching I find my time constrained. Not only with schoolwork but by the fact that my movie theater schedule is just brimming this year. I have in fact managed to hit every film I wanted to this year but looking at May I think maybe I  was ambitious. Well now the less I power on and succeed! I end the month of April with a movie that I have been anticipating for a while : The Big Wedding. My friend and I went to see this film not only because we wanted to but also because we needed a breather so shout out to Caitlyn for helping me keep my sanity.

The Big Wedding (2013)

220px-The_Big_Wedding_Poster

Director: Justin Zuckham

Starring: Ben Barnes, Amanda Seyfried, Robert DeNiro, Diane Keaton, Susan Sarandon, Topher Grace, Katherine Heigal, and Robin Williams

Rating: R

Plot: Alejandro (Barnes) is getting married and in the event of his wedding his biological mother is flying in from South America. With his mother being a strict Catholic, Alejandro fears that she will not accept attending the wedding if she finds out his adoptive parent are divorced. So, in order to hid it from his mother his adoptive parents pretend  to be married.

The Review: Ok so I’m a sucker for a romantic comedy and with a cast like that, how could I resist. It was quirky and funny with its awkward situations and witty dialogue. The film its was shot beautifully and spans only three days. It focuses more on non couple part of the cast and their relationship with each other rather then the wedding which makes  for some sweet heart felt moment. It was definitely entertaining and a good way to take your mind off work or in my case analyzing Woody Allen films.

Watch it?

It’s a cute date movie or non complicated movie that gives you a good laugh. So if your feeling stressed or low check this one out but it can wait for a DVD viewing.

What is this? The Matrix or War of the Worlds?

Salutations,

So, I made the choice to go see Oblivion last weekend. I know, I know why are you watching those overly publicized box office movies? Don’t you have any tastes as a film major? Yes, I do all films! Even the action packed theater vibrating movies sadly.

Oblivion (2013)

Oblivion-2013-Movie-Poster

Director: Joseph Kosinski

Starring: Tom Cruise, Morgan Freeman, and Olga Kurylenko

Rating: PG- 13

The Plot: The last man and woman on Earth are maintenance of drones harvesting the Earth’s resources. With two weeks before they are set to leave for Titan, which is now humanity’s home, Jack (Cruise) finds his belief and allegiances tested.

The Review: Ok, so for those of you who saw the film, did your head hurt? My sure as hell did. What was this War of the Worlds or The Matrix? Alright I’m a little harsh but this was one confusing film riddled with plot holes and vagueness. It tried to use a restricted range and depth of knowledge but at times didn’t give you enough so when I left the theater I walk though a hush cloud of murmurs of “what?” and ” I didn’t get it”. Well speaking from some one who did get it trust me your not really missing much. Besides the stunning cinematography and visual effect the story, I felt, tried to hard to be too hard to shock the audience. Now I give it credit for throwing some curve balls even I didn’t see coming which is a little to hard to do.

Watch it?

Well it was decent and pretty. If you love Tom Cruise sci-fi film then hey it didn’t disappoint so yeah if you want to go to the movies I would go but with Iron Man 3 and The Great Gasby coming out this coming weekends I would just go to those.

Classes and Woody Allen

Ok I know its been a little long since I’ve posted. Busy week! Chicano Studies is kicking my ass with mountains of reading and with mid-terms quickly approaching not only am I running out of time but I have forsaken most luxurious activities, that include sleep. It was either I give up movies or sleep and that was not happening. Shows my priorities, right? I warn there’s going to be a lot of reviews on Woody Allen films in the near future not only because I love his films but also because I happen to be taking a directors class on him. Yeah films that I have to catch up on this weekend….so on with it then and don’t worry I’ll keep as much of the contextual film analysis and pompous terminology out  as much as I can.

Manhattan (1979)

manhattan (1)

Director: Woody Allen

Starring: Woody Allen, Diane Keaton

Rating: R

The Plot: A New York Divorcee dating a 17 year old falls in love with his best friends mistress.

The Review/ Film thoughts: First of all black and white! A film of the seventies in black and white and done beautifully with cinematography. No despite controversy and Woody Allen style I don’t think it reflects his scandalous marriage. I tend to think of auteurs separate from their live though I’m fast learning that Woody Allen’s film have so much of well… him essentially in it. The references and homages to film just make the comedy of the film so much funnier. The movie is just shot beautifully and paired with a soundtrack of piano and old 1930’s music creates a nostalgic feeling laced with romantic moments and sarcastic witty dialogue. The  story is original for its time and unparalleled in its execution till the very end with an out come that is not what I expected for a romantic movies. Its painting of the fantastical New York of Allen’s mind creates an atmosphere of moment out of time and shows his love of the city making it almost a character since it interacts with the characters as much as they do with each other.

Watch it?

If you’re a Woody Allen or romance fan: yes, you’ll flip over this film. If not no harm in trying right? Intellectual Date movie maybe?

And Now for Some Shorts…

Hello Internet,

So as a college student, for those not yet attending or haven’t attended, there are times in which you don’t sleep for a few days. This is one of those times for me so bear with. So instead of being logical and going to sleep after being awake for like 48 hours, like every true idiotic and stubborn student I decide to write reviews instead of sleeping. At this moment you’re probably going “Why the hell would you do that?!” Well the answer is simple: I have more classes and work to do…..Duh. So instead of reviewing a feature length I though I would delve into a slightly different genre: shorts. Told you guys I watch everything so here are an array of shorts for you to considered and are some of my personal favorite.

1. More (1998)

More 2

Director: Mark Osborne

Type: Claymation (stop motion animation)

Plot:  This film is about an inventor looking to change the world with the greatest invention and he soon finds out that maybe his dreams are not all that he wanted.

The Review: Gotta love the look of claymation its so interesting to look at. The film is simple and possesses so much meaning. The character development and purpose and are clear. Its a stunning example of both shorts and style in animation so what more is there to say then amazing. I could go on and on but what’s the point it really speaks for itself and its a winner for best animated short at the Oscars.

Watch it?

2. George Lucas in Love

GeorgeLucasInLove

Director: Joe Nussbaum

Type: Live Action

Plot: The story of George Lucas in college trying to finish his new script when he encounters writers block.

The Review: This one falls under the parody category and film homage in that it references not only Star Wars but also Shakespeare in love. It has a delightful sense of comedy and cute story. Definitely for those who are fans of both films because the reference are constant so look lively when watching it.

Watch it?

Definitely if you seen both films. If not, catch up people there both great films!

3. Paperman (2012)

Paperman

Director: John Kahrs

Type: CGI 3D in 2D format (Confusing I Know)

The Plot: A man on his way to work encounters a woman for a brief moment before losing sight of her. What happens when fate brings them together again?

The Review: Most of you might recognize it as the Disney/ Pixar short right before Wreck- it Ralph. Definitely deserving of last years Oscar, hands down! It looks like a traditional 2D but is really CGI (Computer Generated Image) 3D which is just mind blowing and in mostly in black and white. Its cute, light, and funny all without ever uttering a word, which makes it all the more romantic I think at least.

Watch it?

Yes, it’ll brighten your day and just so happens to be my favorite short ever.

What Did I Just Step Into?

Trance (2013)

MV5BMjMzNjU1MTg5NF5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwMTExMTcwOQ@@._V1_SX214_

Director: Danny Boyle

Starring: James McAvoy, Rosario Dawson, Vincent Cassel

Rating: R

Plot: The story follows art auctioneer, Simon (McAvoy), who after a deal with the local crime group has lost a painting and can not for the life of himself remember where he hid it. To help him remember, hypnotist, Elizabeth is contracted to help but as the therapy progress  more problems and secrets are uncovered creating a web of lies and deceit that test the  boundaries between reality and fantasy.

The Review/ Film Thoughts: Hypnosis really? Show of hands if you’re picturing a creepy old man dangling a coin infront of your face saying ” You are getting sleepy”.  Ummm…no thank you right? Well luckily this film takes a different more psychoanalysis approach to hypnosis. Personally, I love mind-bending, out of no where, what the fuck just happened films especially when they are well done and independent and directed by Danny Boyle even better. Trance was just that.

Its suspenseful and action pack with highlights of graphic bloody violences so definitely not a sappy romance film. Under the violence is stunning cinematography and color use to accent and differentiate moments of past and present and its these flashes that lead to a whole lot of confusion of not only what is going on but who the hell is the “bad” guy and “good” guy. Dialogue is good but not overly flowering and poetic because it is a psychological thriller so it does border on creepy some times. The use of hypnosis is done in a way I haven’t seen again and I think this allows the film to carry a narrative that both confuses the narrator and intrigues them. Hey I went through the movie stages in this one: excitement, intrigue, confusion, hate, realization, and ending with the OH or AHA! moment that just makes me love and appreciate a movie like this.

Now the ending comes to a full circle which is always good in these cases the need full explanation and was not the strongest part of the film but the exposition getting there was definitely worth the semi headache it took to analyze it fully. Its only half predictable in that you get a feeling that everything is connected but never how till the end which I give them props since I’m normally pretty good about figuring thing out before it happens in a movie so having to think and keep guessing only to be shocked: bonus!

Watch it?

If you like and have the patience for weird unpredictable films that  just screw with you’re mind and you’re not squeamish about a whole lot of bloody violence and nudity then I say hell yeah! If you’re not sure, well give it a try anyway what’s the worst that can happen, right?
